Elversberg Tables €2 Million Bid for Pherai as HSV Seeks Bonus Payments

SV 07 Elversberg has formally submitted an offer of approximately €2 million to Hamburger SVTeam·Hamburger SV for the transfer of midfielder Immanuel Pherai. The bid comes after Elversberg, who recently secured promotion to the BundesligaCompetition·Bundesliga, allowed a previous €2.5 million purchase option for Pherai to expire.

Pherai's contract with Hamburger SVTeam·Hamburger SV extends until 2027, placing HSV in a strong negotiating position. The Hamburg-based club is reportedly seeking additional bonus payments as part of any potential deal, indicating a desire to maximize the value from the player's departure. Should a transfer agreement not be reached, Immanuel Pherai is expected to rejoin Hamburger SVTeam·Hamburger SV for their preseason preparations in early July.

The Dutch midfielder spent the second half of the 2025/26 season on loan at SV 07 Elversberg, playing a role in their successful promotion campaign to the BundesligaCompetition·Bundesliga. During his time in the 2. BundesligaCompetition·Bundesliga, Pherai made 13 appearances, contributing two goals and two assists. He also featured in six BundesligaCompetition·Bundesliga matches after the promotion. While his performances were described as decent, they were not deemed outstanding enough for Elversberg to unconditionally trigger their initial purchase option.

When Pherai initially moved to Elversberg on loan in February 2026, Hamburger SVTeam·Hamburger SV Sporting Director Claus Costa noted that Pherai "came to us wanting a change that would give him more regular playing time." Pherai himself echoed this sentiment, stating, "For me, the most important thing is getting regular minutes again. That's why I'm really pleased this loan move to Elversberg has been completed."
